Solar System Home Project

The project is DUE NOVEMBER 26.

Solar System 3D project. Students are to create a model of an object within our solar system in a 3D scale. Possible choices include the following;
  • A single planet
  • A moon
  • A comet/asteroid/meteor
  • The entire solar system
The project itself doesn't have a specific material requirement. Please be creative and think of ways to build without spending a lot of money. I've seen great projects using  simple items such as paper towel rolls, shoe boxes, tooth picks, etc..
If you are looking for items to help you can visit the Toy House, Michaels, or even Meijer. But again, please try to build without spending a ton of money.

Expectations

Students will..
  • create/build a model that represents an object within our solar system in 3D.
  • write a 1-2 page report including facts in THEIR OWN WORDS (not copy and paste) about their project as well as a section explaining how it was built and who helped.
  • present their project to their peers and answer questions that classmates might have about their project.
